About Frida
Frida is a fun, active girl with a big personality and lots of love to give! She was described by her previous family as very active, rambunctious, affectionate, and a little shy when meeting new visitorsâa great mix of playful energy and sweet companionship! In the shelter we have primarily seen Fridaâs shy side but we know with time she will begin to show her true personality! Frida has been an indoor dog and already comes with some wonderful house manners. She is potty trained and will wait by the door when she needs to go outside. She is also crate trained and has done well being crated for up to six hours when left home alone. This smart girl already knows several commands including sit, stay, off, leave it, and no, and she enjoys car rides and spending time with her people. She has been allowed on furniture in her previous home, so she may happily assume couch privileges if invited! Frida gets along well with adult men and women and has reportedly done well with other dogs. She has not lived with children, so any introductions should be thoughtful. She is not a match for homes with cats or small animals, as she does have a tendency to chase them. One thing to note: Frida does not love having her paws handled and may pull away during nail trims, so patience and positive reinforcement will go a long way there. Although her previous paperwork mentioned possible sedation for vet visits, she did very well during intake handling and vaccines with shelter staff and showed no issues! Frida is looking for a home that can match her energy, continue building her confidence, and give her the structure and affection she deserves!
