About WHISPERS

Whispers is a 3-year-old pit bull mix whose gentle spirit shines brighter than her past. Confiscated from an abusive situation along with another dog, she has shown nothing but grace, resilience, and love from the very start. Whispers has been virtually perfect in the shelter. She’s easy to leash, walks calmly, and transitions smoothly from the yards into the building. She is affectionate, playful, and happy to connect with everyone she meets. She knows how to sit on command and takes treats politely, always eager to please. She very interested in every dog she meets, but we recommend a meet and greet with other dogs to make sure it is the right fit.Despite the hardship she endured before coming to the shelter, Whispers has proven herself to be one of those truly special dogs who seems to hold no grudges—only love. She’s the kind of dog who reminds you just how forgiving and kind animals can be, and she’s more than ready for a safe, loving home where she can finally be cherished the way she deserves.I recently stayed with a foster family, and I think I did a pretty great job. Here is a few things my foster family was able to learn about me! I enjoyed calm cuddles and naps. I warm up quickly, and once I trust you, I become even more affectionate. I love using my nose to explore the world, especially when I get to stick my head out the car window and sniff all the exciting smells. Toys are one of my favorite things, and I have lots of fun playing with them. I’m crate trained and sleep through the night in my crate like a champ. I didn’t have any accidents and felt comfortable when left on my own. I’m calm and polite around new people, well behaved, and I adjust easily to new places I’m still learning and would appreciate a little more practice on a leash, but overall I’ve shown that I’m an easy, wonderful house guest. Thank you foster family, I can’t wait to share all my love with a permanent family of my own.
