About Lincoln - Nebraska Litter
The puppies from the Nebraska litter were surrendered to HUGS so they could be safely rehomed, after their parents (both GSDs) had an unplanned litter prior to being spayed and neutered. Lincoln is a typical German shepherd puppy. Lincoln has a fabulous temperament. He likes to play with other dogs, and he is people-oriented. He is eager to learn, happy to please, and adventurous. Lincoln is happy to explore a bit on his own or be right next to you while you're cleaning or doing chores. He is active, intelligent, and confident. Though he is independent he LOVES his people. Lincoln wants to know where you are and how he can be of service. He is engaged, loving, and very smart. He loves playing tug and chewing on bones. Typically, he's perfectly content to sit on the couch with you and chew on his current favorite toy. He is eager-to-please his people, and he would make a great hiking buddy. He has a very strong nose and can track down food from a mile away! He would love to join you on your daily walk or run and sniff everything he can. Lincoln has a big heart and super sweet personality. He settles in a kennel well, has a great start to his potty training, and loves learning new things. He is learning sit, down, touch, spin, and come. Like all GSDs and other herding breeds that we have in rescue, Lincoln (aka Cam) will need training, consistency, boundaries, and lots of activity and socialization, in order to be a well-balanced, well-behaved dog. This sweet boy would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that she needs. Because of that, his ideal owner will have prior GSD, or similar breed experience, and a playful dog buddy. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills and manners. Lincoln (aka Cam)'s adoption fee is $450, all of which goes back into offseting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs. We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped.
