About Tink

TinkTag No: 7169Registered Name: Slaneyside TwinkBreed: GreyhoundDate of Birth: May 9, 2017Color: BlackCat Trainable: NoDog Friendly: Ok with greyhounds, See CommentsKid Friendly: See CommentsWeight: 57 lbsLocation: Foster homeAdoption Donation: $400Comments: Foster Home Update: Tink is currently in a foster home with 3 other dogs - 1 greyhound and 2 smaller dogs (17 lbs). She is loving being part of a pack. She will definitely need a home with other dogs - she loves the company - and where someone is not gone for long hours during the day. Her foster mom describes her as "a gentle sweetheart". "She is a bit shy at first, but once you gain her trust she forms a bond and becomes attached. Tink loves all 3 of our pups and lights up whenever she sees them..........see more of her personality each day." "Tink likes to be able to see her human and furry family. She likes her crate uncovered so that she can see out. We left her crate open and set up an xpen area in front, which she seems to enjoy......She likes to sleep in the crate at night, but during much of the day she likes laying on a blanket in the xpen area where she can stretch out more. The xpen area allowed us to set up her elevated food and water bowls, which allowed her time to eat her food without the other dogs disturbing her. If she is going to be left in a room, she prefers the door open so she is not isolated from others. She likes short walks in the backyard. She is a pack dog and relies on the companionship of others. Tink likes soft food and treats. Tink seems to enjoy relaxing instrumental music to help her settle, especially if she is being left alone. Tink dislikes being left alone or being isolated. She is sensitive to loud noises and prefers a quieter setting. Tink needs time and space to become comfortable before she receives a lot of physical touch. Once she is comfortable, she likes soft ear rubs and long slow pets." "Tink is great on leash (short walks). She doesn't pull and neither should her human companion. Tink tends to be more of a follower and sometimes leans on you for encouragement or guidance as to where to go and what to do. Other times she is happy to explore on her own......Tink needs love, kindness and most importantly patience. Tink needs to be with other dogs as she feels happiest when she's part of a pack. Tink tends to get cold while outside and would benefit from a warm jacket for the colder months. Tink needs to be spoiled rotten and loved endlessly."Tink will melt your heart - she is just precious. She is a retired brood mom. She is very shy at first and takes some time to warm up to you. You will need to be patient to help her come out of her shell, learn your home's routine, and show her calm, loving side. In our kennel, she loves having her bucket bed, with lots of soft, warm bedding, and an ample supply of soft toys. We do not recommend her with young children, as they are too noisy, unpredictable and fast moving for her. Tink would do best in a calm, quiet home that will let her come around on her own terms. As yet we have not been able to take her on walks as the outside world is a little overwhelming for her. But with the help of our Trainer and volunteers she is slowly gaining confidence. She is good with other breeds of dogs, but she prefers calmer dogs. Once she is used to the other dog, she does really well. Tink absolutely needs a home with a more confident, calm dog or two. She will need a home without cats. She needs a quiet home with a securely fenced yard. Sponsored by Cathy Munro Sponsored by Elizabeth Mason, in memory of Drexler Mason Sponsoring a dog is easy.
